Depending on barista, Mercury serves a fantastic espresso. Nestled in a quaint corner along Queen east, a great place to have coffee and catch-up on some reading. Very small space makes it that much more intimate. Patio in summer.

Great atmosphere. Quiet, secluded, yet inviting. The down tempo ambient music compliments the environment. The espresso is excellent, as is the latte.

Super friendly staff, good old school Italian style coffee. Chill music at a good level. Latte served a bit tepid for my taste but I figure latte traditionally served this temperature. Outrageous almond croissant... did I need it? NO. Did I love it? YES!

Great place for a good cup of coffee, I would be confident enough to say probably the best coffee East of the Don valley. Decent amount of seating, and they have a patio.

Lovely café, great baristas, charming but small also has a patio! ( one downfall I had encountered was that the bathrooms were out of service )

Been coming here for couple years, always good coffee and no problems but went in yesterday to get a usual cappuccino and got the cup with just over half full. Looked at the barista and asked why there's so little and no foam, she answered that I should have asked for it when I was ordering, that's how it comes. I've never got so little beforeI was a bit confused and found her to be a bit rude with the way she handled the situation, I hope she understands how important it is to be nice to customers that are paying for this product and service. Always want to support the small local places rather than big chains so I hope the service improves.

I frequent Mercury Espresso Bar for their coffee which is great, pity about the staff who are quite rude every time I go in there--a smile goes a long way:))

on Wednesday Nov 28th around 6:15pm I went to the store to purchase a bag of espresso beans from George Howel one of the best rosters!Jess was on duty that night, she seemed very moody and came across very RUDE! Jess was talking to me as if I had no idea what I was talking about, the store was out off my favourite beans so I stood there trying to decide which one I wanted to purchase. I then asked for an Americano and a bag of beans. while waiting for her to make my drink another customer, who I guess was already in the store came up to the counter to order a double shot of espresso in her drink. As Jess started to pull the shot I said to her, my drink is to go, and her response was I know! in a very rude manner. Her service was very poor and RUDE!!I could off gone to NEO BAR, THE LIBRARY OR ROSTER COFFEE for the beans, but I choose Mercury instead. so sad.My husband worked with George Howell for a couple times so I would really like Jess to know, I know what I was looking for.

YUCKBuyer beware... if you are not a coffee hipster you likely will have a pretty ugly experience.So if you are not a COFFEE Snob and one of the "DUDES" like behind the "BAR" expect unexceptional, surly, better than thou service. If you don't want an ESPRESSO, beware of anything else they might serve... Today a plunger with a bit of cream in it totally curdled not the cream but the coffee... the "BARISTA'S" explanation... the coffee is too citrus and I the paying customer should never have put cream in their exceptional product. My question why did you make the plunger in the first place???The whole experience simply left a gross feeling... and to boot the server "DUDE" didn't even offer me my money back.OH WELL There are many many more places along the street. I will enjoy the sunshine in the park with a take out from 7 or 8 other places...This version of a coffee shop would do far better on the west side of Queen...

Mercury is my favourite coffee shop in the entire East End of the city. Fantastic coffee, including a rotating cast of guest roasts from other small third wave roasters, as well as friendly staff make this the ideal place spend to sip on pour over coffee while reading a book. The window seating is great for people watching, and when the weather is nice the small patio is great. All in all, a top notch coffee house.

Very delicious espresso used and made here. Would've like more foam in my macchiato but that's just personal preference. The vibe is very cozy, almost feels like a den.

I'm still upset about this place 24hrs later which has inclined me to leave a review. Unfortunately not a good one. How this place has 4.4 stars I have no idea!!??Ordered a "large" cappuccino and received the smallest large I have ever seen in existence. They only do the one size they told me however, I used to be a barista (a bloody good one I might add 😂) so I know it can be larger. Couldn't taste the coffee and the milk was burnt which caused a sour taste. (On a side note, I asked 2 of my friends I was with to taste and they completely agree with me, I'm not being crazy 🤪) asked to change it to a black coffee and that had no aroma on it and tasted extremely weak. Decent service and the croissant was nice which I'll end with. I fear going back there tho :/ sorry if this is a bit harsh but I don't want this to happen to someone else and I want mercury to become better

Amazing place with a wonderful vibe. Friendly people and perfect atmosphere for work, socializing, or getting a quiet place to have a cup of coffee or tea.

Great little coffee shop. Friendly staff. Has wifi but cuts out time to time. The shop is small and cozy. The chocolate orange scone i got was amazing. Small fee to used the credit card for purchases under $5.00.

Hands down best coffee in Toronto. Very nice relaxing atmosphere. I enjoyed two Americanos there today, and I can say it really is the best quality coffee. Excellent baristas, nice community vibe. No wonder they keep winning awards

Coffee selection is off the hook!Not only do they bring use Pilot but they bring in some really unique roasters from around Canada. Staff are amazing, managerial and ownership are on point and definitely worth chatting up while you are in. Go give them a try if you want something fun and wild or just want yourself a good cup of coffee!

My favourite coffee in the city. The shop itself is quaint but conveniently located in the heart of leslieville. Cute patio with a couple of tables, weather permitting.

Great little corner cafe. Excellent quality coffee beans, which I've bought bags of as gifts for friends. My personal favourite here was their soda and sparkling beverages, I had a very refreshing rhubarb soda here on a hot summer day. The service is friendly and they really make an effort, which is lovely and much appreciated.

Really good espresso (americano or latte are my usual go to's), although have noticed that some of the former baristas have left and their replacements are not quite up to the same level of quality drinks. Always take my drink to go but there are lots of people that stay, in the summer theres a decent sized patio (nicer to sit outside as the inside seats are pretty crowded together). They also have a small selection of baked goods; I recommend the cheese & bacon biscuit.

Cute little coffee shop and the espresso is really good! The shop is small but charming. The menu items are expensive but it seems to be the going rate unless you go to Tim Hortons.

Nice environment inside – very chill and a great place to do work. They've also got a nice patio in the summer. I wish they did more specialty drinks.

5 stars for the espresso however the service brings the overall rating to a 2 for me. I gave this cafe a few attempts, each resulting in bad service. The baristas seem moody and give off a "too cool to be nice" vibe. Friendlier staff is essential for better service.

I had the chai latte here and it was decent; however, nothing special. The thing I like here the most is actually the ambiance. Very casual and laid back, it's a great place to just chill. They've got free wi-fi and newspapers everywhere for you to read.

They are a super friendly neighborhood place with great coffee and sweets. They are the only place around here that serves Cemex.

Cute little coffee shop on queen street. Their wifi doesn’t too well though. Just enjoyed their coffee but I might go back to try the vegan treats.

Used to work near hear. If you take your coffee black this place is for you. The Americanos and Espresso here are the best I've ever had from a coffee shop.
